Michaël Cardinal, Pharm.D.
I like seeing an idea
take shape with others.
I chose pharmacy to contribute to people’s health. My path later brought me into entrepreneurship and digital health.
What I enjoy is making connections: between an idea and a need, between the people who provide care and those who develop tools, and between perspectives that don’t always meet.

The interest in building
Then came
entrepreneurship.
In 2018, I cofounded TherAppX, now AppGuide. Entrepreneurship takes me from a product question to a conversation with a care setting, from a partnership to the everyday work of a team. I also work to grow AppGuide by developing partnerships and finding new settings where what we build can be useful.
With the team, that work takes shape in projects such as AppSantéMentale.ca, with CETI-SMDI, or Passeport Féminin, with Femmes en Santé. We also develop a space supporting smoking and vaping cessation for Santé Québec’s smoking cessation centres in Montréal’s West Island, as well as digital spaces that support patients through their medication treatment.

Other settings.
Other conversations.
I find that same interest in exchanging perspectives in governance, teaching and standards development. The settings change, and that’s part of what interests me: working with people who approach health questions differently.
Away from work, there’s cycling, cooking and family. Cycling also brings me to events such as Vélo SP / MS Bike, where people come together around a health cause.
